By accessing or using NorthLaw.ai ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
NorthLaw.ai provides predictive legal analytics tools that use machine learning models trained on publicly available court decisions. The Service currently includes 53 analytics tools covering Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions, analyzing over 15 million cases.
The Service provides statistical predictions and analytical tools only. Nothing on NorthLaw.ai constitutes legal advice, and no attorney-client or solicitor-client relationship is created by using the Service. Predictions are probabilistic estimates based on historical data and should be used as one factor among many in legal decision-making.
Our models report calibrated accuracy ranges (typically 70–96% AUC depending on the tool) and confidence tiers. Despite rigorous testing:
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding agreements. When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information and maintain the security of your credentials.
You agree not to:
All models, algorithms, user interfaces, and content on NorthLaw.ai are the property of NorthLaw Inc. You may use predictions and outputs generated by the Service in your professional work, but you may not redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit the Service itself.
Some features require a paid subscription. Fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated. Refunds are available within 14 days of initial subscription if you are not satisfied.
Case text submitted for analysis is processed in real time and is not stored after prediction is complete. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle data.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NorthLaw Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NorthLaw Inc. from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms. You may cancel your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email or prominent notice on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
